July 29, 2026
The August episode of “Prime Country with Scotty McCreery” debuts this Saturday, August 1 at 3 PM ET, on SiriusXM Prime Country Ch. 58. Now in its second year, the monthly show airs nine times throughout August as McCreery spins the country songs of the ‘80s and ‘90s that he loves, shares behind the scenes stories from his career, and talks with guests. This month, McCreery talks with hitmaker Zach Top who shares some stories, reveals his country music Mt. Rushmore (Keith Whitley, George Strait, Merle Haggard, and George Jones), and requests to hear “Job Description” by Alan Jackson. McCreery and Top talked backstage at Country Stampede in Bonner Springs, Kansas on June 26 where both artists performed in front of more than 18,000 fans.
The nine airings of “Prime Country with Scotty McCreery” in August are:
McCreery recently released 15, a retrospective collection of 9 hits and 4 new songs, celebrating his first 15 years as a recording artist. The new songs on the album include his cover versions of “Your Man” featuring Josh Turner, “Hello Darlin’,” and “Why Me, Lord?” as well as the original song “Been a Good Run.”
In addition to being on 15, his first number one hit, “Five More Minutes,” is featured in the Apple TV+ movie “The Dink,” starring Jake Johnson, Mary Steenburgen, and Ed Harris, and produced by Johnson and Ben Stiller (who makes a brief appearance in the film). In the movie, Steenburgen’s character gives Johnson’s character a country music playlist. Although he does not like country music at first, Johnson plays “Five More Minutes” and begins to sing along and cry as he becomes overwhelmed with the powerful lyrics. It’s a highlight of the movie, with the song being part of the plot and not just background music.
McCreery returns to the studio soon to begin working on a new album.
